Meet Our Founder
Born in the heart of the Erg Chigaga Dunes, Ali belongs to the Sahrawi people, the nomadic group native to the western part of the Sahara desert. His connection to the desert is not just geographical but cultural, as the Sahrawi way of life has long been intertwined with the vast, shifting sands. Raised in the Sahara, he lived a nomadic life until his parents decided to settle in the village of M’hamid. Over the years, Ali has nurtured a profound love for the desert. He is passionate to share its beauty with travelers from around the world.
The Sahrawi people’s resilience and strong bond with the desert have shaped Ali’s spirit, making him a unique guide for those wanting to experience its magic.

With over 15 years of experience as an expert desert guide, Ali has worked with many local tour agencies. Nevertheless, his dream was to create something special: his own company, Desert Chigaga Tours. Consequently, in the summer of 2024, Ali launched his desert tour business, offering unique, personalized experiences that reflect his deep love and knowledge of the Desert.
